The Academy for the Performing Arts’s MMET Program at Huntington Beach High School is excited to present its second annual fundraiser performance at Campus JAX! As Huntington Beach’s leading popular music program, MMET showcases outstanding student musicians from Huntington Beach, highlighting the incredible young talent right here in Orange County. Join us for a lively night featuring classic rock, funk, contemporary favorites, and original music performed by these talented artists. This special end-of-year show celebrates the program’s honors class, recently returned from a successful tour in Los Angeles. There will be other special student performances by other MMET bands. Come out and support these incredible students—you won’t want to miss it!

Simon Says Revue officially formed in late 2023, always lively, and upbeat, appealing to young and old alike.

Since the early 2000s, Glen Lystne and crew had been entertaining Southern California when it became obvious that Paul Simon's music was definitely a great fit! Thus Simon Says Revue was born!

Frontman, Glen Lystne and crew have been the supporting act for the likes of Men at Work, Eric Burden and the Animals, Loverboy, Johnny Rivers, Larry Carlton, Hal Ketchum, Blood Sweat and Tears, and many more and now are making their debut appearance at Campus JAX in Newport Beach, OCs premier tribute band venue!

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Alexis Silva is a seventeen-year-old, second-degree black belt, who always had a vision for community service and a passion for music. In 2023, she faced off against an adrenal gland tumor that changed the course of her life, leading her to write, sing, and record "The Fight's Not Over Yet." She did this just days before her grueling, eight-hour surgery to remove the tumor her physicians believed to be cancerous. Only 30 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with these tumors per year.

A musical celebration of an artist whose catalog has over thirty top-40 hits, Billy Nation entertains audiences with a high-energy, authentic concert experience of Billy Joel classics from the '70s, '80s, and '90s! Complete with Billy's signature grand piano, growling saxophone, rich harmonies, and audience engagement, Billy Nation captures Billy's stylistic range with ease—from anthems like "Piano Man" to rockers like "You May Be Right" and beautiful ballads like "Just the Way You Are."

Ever since the Sir Douglas Quintet took the world by storm with Doug Sahm’s 1965 hit “She’s About A Mover,” guitarist/vocalist Louie Ortega has been a key member of the band that later transitioned into the Texas Tornados. 

That super-group also included Freddy Fender, Flaco Jimeñez and Augie Meyers, in addition to bandleader Doug Sahm. 

More recently, Michael Guerra took over the reins on the Bajo Sexto in the Texas Tornados, then went on to tour with another super group named The Mavericks - as their accordionist.

Culturally, Tex-Mex music preceded the Texas Tornados by a century or more, but it took the Tornados to achieve world-wide recognition of that rollicking fusion of Texas & Mexican border music. 

Conjunto rock, Sahm called it. Sahm was famous for melding rock, country, blues and Tejano with a strong back-beat. Reviewers used the term Spanglish to describe his unique lyrics that combined both dialects into unforgettable vocal hooks. “Hey, Baby, Que Paso,”  “Guacamole” and “Adios Mexico” are examples.(Their self-titled first album was released in both English and Spanish language versions.)

The powerful sounds of button accordion, Vox organ, drums and guitars helped the band win a Grammy Award in 1990 for best Mexican/American Performance. 

Among countless accolades, the band played at the presidential inauguration of Bill Clinton and also at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Their 1996 single "A Little Bit Is Better Than Nada" accompanied the opening credits of the popular golf movie Tin Cup.

Now the Texas Tornados Tradition, comprised of former members Louie Ortega and Michael Guerra, brings the music of the Tornados to Newport Beach on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Their All-Star band also includes James Intveld on bass, Kip Dabbs on drums and Carl Byron on keyboards. Music from the Mavericks and other notable roots bands will be performed.

Appearing at 5 pm to open the Tex-Mex All-Star Revue is another group of talented musicians named Los Fabulocos who have built a storied career with what they call Cali-Mex Roots Rock, led by accordionist Jesse Cuevas and Mike Molina.

Wirth all these accordion players to entertain you, we have dubbed this a Big Squeeze Fiesta. Come enjoy dancing, a full menu and full bar at your table in the Campus JAX Cabaret. Though she now calls Nashville home, Alice Wallace doesn't let a summer go by without a trip back to Orange County to play for the fans who have cheered her on from the start of her career. Recently called "one of the best singers of this generation - hands down - and perhaps one of the greatest yodelers ever" by Saving Country Music, Alice will be bringing some brand new songs and classic favorites with her when she returns to the Campus Jax stage June 18. Always Tina provides a dynamic, exciting fun filled show. Shar Wils ("Tina") nails every detail of the live Tina Turner experience. She has performed her show for Tina fans all over the world. Brian Clemens is a London-based jazz pianist, arranger, and bandleader originally from Los Angeles. After earning his master's degree and studying under Bill Cunliffe, pianist for Frank Sinatra and Buddy Rich and a Grammy Award-winner, Brian established himself in the LA music scene before relocating to London, where he has built a reputation as one of the city's most versatile and in-demand musicians.

Tawanda Suessbrich-Joaquim is a first-generation New Mexico native singer and songwriter, currently based in sunny Los Angeles, California. An alumna of Santa Fe University of Art and Design with a focus on jazz vocals, she has won multiple prestigious awards, including first place in the Sarah Vaughan Vocal Jazz Competition (2021) and the BISTRO Outstanding Achievement Award for Jazz Vocalists (2023).

Pretzel Logic – A Steely Dan Revue presents the signature sound of this legendary group in masterful detail and precision. The band combines the genres of rhythm and blues, rock, and jazz, with signature guitars, smooth vocals, and jazz-inspired horns. Bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb is celebrated worldwide for redefining the bass-and-voice format. A protégé of Ray Brown, she has built a three-decade international career across the United States and Europe. With more than a dozen albums as leader—including "Sweet Dreams" (2024), exploring the music of Eurythmics and Annie Lennox—Korb brings a buoyant swing feel and crystalline vocals that recall Ella Fitzgerald, alongside bass virtuosity firmly in the Ray Brown tradition. Her new project celebrates 100 years of Ray Brown. The Vocal Side of Ray Brown is a curated program that includes some of Korb's favorite treasures from his trio songbook, songs inspired by lessons she learned from him, and some original gems that you might not have heard before. Joining Korb for the celebration are Josh Nelson (piano) and Kevin van den Elzen (drums).
