Brian Swartz & The Swartzestra

Brian Swartz & The Swartzestra brings a rare, tour-de-force performance of modern big band jazz to Campus Jax. A charter member of John Beasley’s Grammy-nominated MONK’estra and a 30-year pillar of the Southern California jazz scene, trumpeter, vocalist, composer, arranger, and bandleader Brian Swartz takes the stage wearing every hat imaginable: playing trumpet, singing, conducting, and fronting an all-star 19-piece roster of Los Angeles’ top musicians.

It is a high-wire act of total musicianship that few artists even attempt. Swartz commands the stage from every angle, guiding the band through an entire evening of his own original compositions and signature arrangements. This is a unique chance to experience high-level, contemporary big band jazz delivered by a master of the craft.
