Multiple Grammy winning Jazz Trumpeter Shunzo Ohno Returns to West Coast

Shunzo Ohno, a true trailblazer in the jazz world, made a significant impact when he left Japan to tour with Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, marking the beginning of a remarkable career.

He went on to collaborate with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Gil Evans, Buster Williams and Larry Coryell, becoming an esteemed member of the jazz community and earning accolades, including the first Jazz Composer to win first place in the International Songwriting Competition Award for his composition "Musashi".

Since 2011, Ohno has been a steadfast supporter of Northern Japan's recovery efforts, visiting annually (except for 2020) to inspire young students affected by trauma through music.

His albums, All In One, DREAMER, and ReNew, are tributes to the region's resilience and his commitment to healing through art.

His journey is marked by resilience and dedication, which have resonated with fans worldwide, showcased in the documentary "Never Defeated” narrated by Buster Williams.

Shunzo Ohno’s performance promises to be a euphoric journey through the diverse landscape of jazz music, where funky grooves, contemporary innovation, and traditional roots converge to create an unforgettable musical experience for audiences of all backgrounds and tastes.
