The VDE Big Band

The VDE Big Band is performing a selection of the repertoire that was performed by Gerry Mulligan and his Concert Jazz Band. The pieces for this band were arranged by musicians such as: Bob Brookmeyer, Bill Holman, Johnny Mandel and Gary McFarland. Gerry Mulligan was one of the greatest baritone sax players ever. He was groundbreaking with working on the Miles Davis record "Birth of the Cool", his quartet with Chet Baker, but also his big band.

The VDE Big Band will pay homage to Mulligan with Tim McKay as the featured baritone sax soloist.
